Rocky Mountain USA Junior Olympics Festival
The Dillon Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program & the Dillon Marina are proud to host the 2022 Rocky Mountain USA Junior Olympic Sailing Festival. This event is part of a nationwide series of sailing regattas for youth ages 8 to 18. Each event in this family of regattas is hosted by a different club or organization, but all events share a common goal: to encourage young sailors to enjoy sailing and to develop their skill. Events mix Olympic-style competition with elements of learning and fun for all levels--from beginning racers to those with Olympic aspirations. The following fleets will be competing: Laser Radial, RS Tera, & RS Feva.

A Note From the Skipper
Peaks & Tides has been instructing and training young sailors since 2016 on Lake Navajo and Lake Nighthorse in Durango, Colorado. The program is proud to feature ASA Certified as well as US Sailing Certified instructors. We teach young sailors to sail on a variety of sailing vessels from dinghys to 33' sloop rigged keelboats. We proudly boast that we have a thriving Leadership Program in which we bring on our most passionate sailors to assist in our Youth Summer Sail Camp. Our Junior Leaders and Interns seek any opportunity they can to sail, and to advance their skills. We even have a potential collegiate athlete among us who has a spot waiting for her on the Stanford Sail Team!
The Sail Durango Race Team’s goal is to continue developing the team, provide opportunities for the team to compete in local and regional Regattas, and make additions to our fleet so that we can one day host the US Sailing Rocky Mountain Junior Sailing Olympics and other sailing events in Durango, CO. Opportunities to travel to sail with other young sailors from our region are incredibly valuable for our Team and for our program.
